CYF Experience This Weekend...

Update to all CYFers!!! We ARE meeting this weekend for CYF Experience, however, we will not be meeting at Caribou Coffee. The coffee house environment has proven very distracting and problematic. I believe we will be better served at the McCafe across High House Road! Maybe the coffee's a down-grade, but the atmosphere will be an upgrade. See ya there at 10:05 AM! I may be a few minutes late, but I'll be there.

Volunteer Training UPDATE!!!!

We are hoping all of you who are currently working with Children and Youth at Covenant will be able to attend ONE of our up-coming trainings. We also hope all of you who are/may be interested in joining the team will join us as well! I wanted to update a previous posting - the training dates have changed!

The days and times are now May 3rd (9:45 AM and 12:00 PM) & May 17th (9:45 AM only)!

ALL ARE WELCOME! Even if you don't want to teach or take on an active role - we want you to come and see where your strengths/talents can help children/youth ministries @ Covenant!

I would like to say THANK YOU to all of our dedicated singers this weekend! Thank you Peyton & Jordan Barish, Grayden & Jackson Beaufort, Isabella & Madeline Fry, and finally Matthew Bunn! I hear the performance was AWESOME and that you had Covenant rockin' for their Earth Sunday Celebration! I would also like to send a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Jody Barish who dedicated her time, energy, and expertise to making this happen. Also, to Mrs. Robin Miller for providing the program with some Pizzzzzaaaazz behind the piano! All of you made this Earth Sunday Celebration really STAND OUT!

Remember, we have the CYF Experience this Sunday (4/19) - 10:05 AM Caribou Coffee (Corner of High House Rd. & Cary Parkway). We will be tackle another "Hot Topic" and relate it to our everyday lives. To all Covenant Families with Children and Youth...

The staff and children's ministry volunteers at Covenant are hosting information/training session(s) for all who are interested in getting involved with the children/youth ministries offered at the church. We've had a lot of individuals/families voice an interest in getting more involved with the children and youth so we thought this would be the most appropriate venue to initiate the process for everyone. We hope to have at least two time slots for training session: Right now you can choose between May 17th after the 9 AM worship or May 17th after the 11 AM worship. Sessions will be no more than 20 minutes and are simply a positive way to initiate the process - NO OBLIGATIONS!

During this session we are focusing on several things:

-For those of you who have a passion and desire for classroom teaching we hope to focus on "the basics" (what's offered for our children, what does it look like, where do/will we need the help, & where are the supplies/curriculum/materials located.) However, we wanted to also discuss briefly strategies that could help with classroom management and behavior modification as well to cover all of our bases and to ease your mind.

-For those of you who have gifts outside of the classroom and want to help behind the scenes there will be information for you as well. You will have the opportunity to listen to our needs and desires and be an active participant in helping us figure out what else could be missing and how you could help us fill that void -utilizing your strengths and passions of course!

Covenant is a great place where we can all learn and live out our faith together, lets show our children/youth what it is like to be a CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY!

Spring Daze is Here!!!

Just a reminder to all the families at Covenant Christian Church. Spring Daze is here! Remember, Covenant is fortunate to be a part of this great celebration! We've got a booth again this year and will be selling Pepsi products, water, coffee, sausage biscuits, chicken & polish sausage sandwiches. We are still looking for volunteers who can help during the day. We are also accepting donations of Pepsi products and Aquafina to offset cost of supplies, food, and drinks! If you cannot help in any other way, your stopping by the booth with friends and family to say "hello" and purchasing some food/drinks would be sufficient. Come on out and support our community and our church! Spring Daze - Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM Bond Park in Cary!

Volunteers Needed:
10:00a – 1:00p (please be at the booth by 9:45a) 2 more people *** High traffic time

1:00p – 4:00p (please be at the booth by 12:45p) 6 more people *** High traffic time

4:00 – 6:00p (please be at the booth by 3.45p) 6 more people (this is when we start to clean up and take down the tents, etc)

Our booth Number is CN15 in Section G….this is down near the boat house in the same area we were last year. Kids 2 Kids... This Satruday!

Calling all Kids 2 Kids families (All children K - 5th grade)... This Saturday at 9 AM (till 11 AM) we will be meeting at the church to assist the Men's group and other church members with sprucing up the Garden of Hope! We will be painting stepping stones, building a meditation bench, and planting. Come on out and get down and dirty and help Covenant clean up!

Also, we would like to take about 20 minutes, during this Kids 2 Kids program, to practice a couple of songs for Covenant's Earth Sunday Celebration. This celebration will be the 26th during the 11 AM worship service. We hope to also try and practice Sunday the 19th at 9:45 AM and Sunday the 26th at 9:45 AM. To all of you who attended this year's Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza, I hope you enjoyed it! And for all of you who helped - THANK YOU once again for all of your hard work and dedication! We were able to hand out over 7 BIG bags of candy - 3 chocolate Easter crosses - 3 Free VBS Tee-shirt vouchers (Congratulations: Fabrizio Anderson, Eli Baldwin, & Owen Rutledge) - 30+ goodie bags - 30+ buckets (each holding at least +/-3 dyed eggs), & a whole bunch of fond memories! Life is Good Covenant, Life is Good! Thanks for coming together and making this a very special Easter!

To all Covenant families with young children!!!! This Sunday - Bible Buddies (11 AM worship for children ages 3 through Kindergarten) and Young Disciples (11 AM worship for grades 1- 3) will be cancelled so that students can attend Easter service. There WILL BE child care provided for infants, toddlers, and all preschoolers! We are looking for an electric mixer for Saturday's Easter Egg Hunt. We only need one and will only be making one batch of "empty tomb cookies". Attention, all CYFers there will be NO "CYF Experience" this week (April 12th) due to the Easter holiday. All Sunday School classes have been cancelled due to the nature of this week's schedule on Sunday morning! However, classes will resume at Caribou Coffee on Sunday April 19th (10 AM). Kids to Kids -- Churchwide clean-up!!!

Just a reminder that on on April 18th (9 AM to 11 AM) Kids to Kids will be meeting to clean up the church grounds and assist with the Garden of Hope! We've got some fun things planned for the garden, so come on out and help us really make the garden and church shine! Let's show the community how much fun it can be to get down and dirty while cleaning up! We'll be painting rocks to decorate the garden and assisting the men of the church with their duties as well. Come one, come all! Let's show the community just how special this place really is! Reminder... Easter Egg Hunt!

Hello everyone, we are still looking for youth and adult volunteers for the Covenant's Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza (April 11th - 10 AM - 11:15 AM)! Thanks to all of you who have already volunteered, however, we still need a few more individuals to help. There is no major commitment except showing up about 20 minutes early to prepare work stations. All voluteers will be responsible for assisting with one prepared activity nothing more!
